Q-Tips
Lindsey and I love to clean our ears with Q-Tips. Lindsey introduced me to the supreme Q-tip - the wooden stick. I have even developed the need to lick the Q-Tip before using it. Sometimes I only need to use one end of the Q-Tip to clean out an ear. The dilemma is what way to put the Q-Tip back into the jar. Do you put the used side down or the used side up?

Why would I joke about such a serious issue? What do you do when you only use 1 end of a Q-Tip?

I can understand throwing it away if it is an occasional occurrence, but this happens to me regularly. I can't rationalize the careless disposal of under-utilized health aids!
If you refuse to throw them away, I would suggest that you put them in your own container, with either end up as long as you are consistent. That way Lindsey will know that she is using a perfectly clean Q-tip. Personally, I would put the dirty side down.
But on a more serious note, how do you only use one end? Do you use the same end to clean both ears? Or are you just cleaning one ear at a time?
Tara, I really appreciate your suggestion of dirty side down. I will start doing that, so Lindsey better be careful. The suggestion of a secondary container would be ideal, but is not practical at this time.
I get in this predicament when I clean my ears, but one of them (usually the left) stills seems dirty. I then use a second Q-tip to re-clean the ear, but I don't need to use both ends.
I will for the rest of my days replace the Q-tip with the dirty end down.
Or you can cut the dirty end off and dispose of it. That way it doesn't start to grow anything:-)
Thanks for the great suggestion Charity. Now I have two ways to deal with this serious problem.
Didn't I raise you to always throw those things away??? Apparently you got messed up when you went off to college.......
